Day 1 of the 2024 Calgary Stampede is now fully booked, and it's been an exciting start so far.

Kicking off the 2024 edition of the world's largest outdoor spectacle was the day of the annual parade, with hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets of downtown Calgary to enjoy the festivities.|
From there, more than 161,400 people streamed into the Calgary Stampede grounds, bringing the two-day total to 201,902.

The Calgary Stampede Cutting Horse competition, which began Thursday, concluded Friday with Mia Webster of Bend, Oregon winning the unlimited amateur draw category. Winners of the five categories will share $80,000 in prizes.
It was the start of the rodeo and chuckwagon events at this year's Calgary Stampede and it was a good start in the tie ropes for four-time PCRA World Champion Tuf Cooper.| His new frame helped him finish 7th 3 times to take first place in the $7,000 payday.

It was a very close opening night on the chuckwagon track with the leader and runner-up separated by just half a second.| Chad Fike had the best time of the night at 1:11:08 and Jason Glass was second at 1:11:58. More results can be found here.
