Strong winds have damaged property in  Calgary, Alberta,  over the past 10 hours. Power outages coincide with  strong winds in  Calgary, while poor road conditions and other  damage are reported across Alberta.  Strong winds  overnight Thursday into Friday morning coincided with a large number of power outages reported by  Enmax overnight Thursday into Friday morning coincided with a large number of power outages reported by  Enmax on Thursday,  prompting a weather  advisory and coinciding with a number of unplanned power outages in the city...  Strong winds knocked out power in northwest Calgary Thursday afternoon and damaged vehicles after a tent was  torn from its  anchors. "We had a little  dust; we had a wind  coming," they said in northeast Calgary. "It looks like there was a wind blowing, from what we  could read. And unfortunately, it lifted one of our long tents and threw it like a  trampoline." These tents, originally designed to protect cars from hail, have been in place since 2025. The material caused damage to  some surrounding infrastructure  as soon as they  took off.
