The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has identified 17 criminal hotspots in Abuja and arrested 348 suspects in daily raids.
The locations highlighted include the Abuja-Kaduna road, Maitama (under the Transcorp bridge) and 15 other areas in the territory.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, PS Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, stressing that the daily raids are critical to the maintenance of law and order in the FCT.
According to her, the police command has been conducting raids daily as part of its relentless efforts to combat criminal activities and protect public and private infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Police Commander has been conducting a series of strategic raids targeting identified black spots across the territory. .

Adeh also noted that the raids are also aimed at protecting infrastructure to disrupt activities that lead to theft and vandalism of public property, such as manhole covers, street lights and electrical cables.
Blackspots identified in FCT
She said the blackspots identified and raided were in Apo-Dutse Panteka, Diplomatic Area, New PDP Secretariat Area, Kabusa Panteka, Ajakaita on Tungan-Maje, Abuja-Kaduna Road, on Jabi Panteka, Apo -Waru Panteka and Zone 1 (Monkey Village).
Adeh said the additional areas are in Durumi village, Gwarimpa, Angwan Tivi, Mpape, Durumi III, Mabushi, Kubwa and Maitama, under the Transcorp bridge.
348 suspects arrested; recovered stolen items
According to her, during daily raids in the listed areas, officers arrested 348 persons suspected of various criminal activities.
