Mallorca defender Pablo Maffeo was the target of repeated incidents between the two teams throughout the match and the situation escalated at the final whistle as the teams clashed in a brawl that required several peacekeepers to calm the spirits.
Maffeo tried to exclude Vinicius Jr. with an embarrassing loss early in the game as the Mallorca defender reacted to a light blow to the chest by collapsing to the ground in apparent agony.
It all started there, when Maffeo provoked five fouls from Real Madrid players during the match, while committing one himself.

It was clear that the 27-year-old, a former Manchester City youth product, was the target of Real Madrid's wrath at the final whistle as players and staff from both sides clashed. At one point, when most of the players had calmed down, a Real Madrid staff member could be seen running after Maffeo as he walked away from the brawl.
A video emerged showing Maffeo following Vinicius to the final whistle, blowing him kisses as Vinicius walked away repeatedly saying "vas a casa" or, in French, "tu vai à casa" over his shoulder.
After the match, Aurélien Tchouameni spoke of Real Madrid's repeated disappointment with Maffeo's actions.
"Every game we have a problem with him," Tchouameni said. "A problem between Vinicius and Maffeo? We know that, but it doesn't matter. We don't want to talk about this guy because that's what he wants."
As Tchouameni points out, this isn't the first time Maffeo has tried to anger Vinicius Jr. In fact, the Mallorca defender said during a podcast appearance just a day before the Super Cup match that he would "take Vinicius out in 10 seconds" if they had a boxing match, which provided the basis for today's ignition.
Last August, Maffeo stepped on Vini's foot in their first La Liga meeting of the season, earning the Mallorca man a yellow card that some argued should have resulted in a red card. Meanwhile, in February 2023, Maffeo told the media that he thought Vinicius Jr. "cries a lot" during games, a sentiment he echoed during their encounter in early 2024 by making a tearful gesture to Vinicius as the Brazilian looked for a failed. Carlo Ancelotti, who was seen speaking to Maffeo after the match, blamed Mallorca for the incident.
"It wasn't necessary because the game was over," he said of the return to normality. "They did something that wasn't necessary, such a fight." They were a bit angry about what happened in the match, I tried to calm them down a bit with Maffeo so that nothing bad would happen.
