Don't be fooled: Trudeau is not resigning!
At first glance, it looks like Justin Trudeau resigned as Prime Minister this morning. But that's not true — here's why.
At first glance, it looks like Justin Trudeau resigned as Prime Minister this morning. But if you listen carefully to what he said, he didn't resign until after the Liberal Party has elected its new leader. And that could take several months. To ensure that no one will remove him from power, he has convinced the Governor General to suspend all parliamentary activities. He thus escapes all scrutiny and accountability, because MPs cannot remove him with a vote of confidence.
Trudeau will cling to power and all the perks of being Prime Minister for as long as he can.
Even when Parliament resumes on March 24, he has not said he will resign at that time. He is probably still conspiring with the DPA to get them to support him, as always. In other words, nothing has really changed, except that Trudeau has managed to avoid taking responsibility once again. In his self-serving speech today, he took no responsibility at all. He blamed "infighting" within his own party. He doesn't think he's done anything wrong — ever.
Friends, expect a flurry of activity in the future. Trudeau will appoint all his cronies, all his partners, all his donors to lucrative board positions.
He will sign big contracts only with his friends. He will pass meaningless decrees.
He will probably also rob the Treasury like never before. And he will delete compromised documents and delete emails like Hillary Clinton on a fast track. But there's something else dangerous: the Liberal Party's membership rules allow foreigners and 14-year-olds to vote for the new leader. That's how the Chinese Communist Party infiltrated 11 different ridings during the last election.
And I just saw a prominent Hamas supporter, Mohamed Fakih, order his troops to en masse join the Liberal Party.
It's disgusting that foreign activists can elect our prime minister before the rest of us are allowed to exercise our rights as citizens in elections.
The whole country is on fire as Trudeau and his fellow Liberals put themselves first. So what can we do?
First, put pressure on the Governor General and the lame-duck Trudeau government. The Governor General should never have allowed Trudeau to prorogue Parliament - he must understand that we are in a government crisis and that the affairs of the country cannot be left to the vested interests of the Liberal Party.
Specifically, we will deploy our Rebel News digital advertising truck in Ottawa to send a message to Trudeau - and to the spineless Governor General who has obeyed him.
