Authorities said the investigation began in September 2024, when members of the public alerted police to a suspected drug trafficking operation.
On December 12, 2024, police obtained search warrants for a vehicle and a residence in the 1800 block of 14th Street S.W. and a detached garage in the 600 block of 28th Avenue N.W.
During these searches, police found 4.3 kilograms of fentanyl, two kilograms of methamphetamine, 11 grams of hydromorphone, 5.6 grams of heroin, 3.9 grams of cocaine, and 2.2 kilograms of an unknown powder. Police also found $4,145 in cash, a hydraulic press, a brick crusher, an improvised energy weapon, and a 3D-printed .22 caliber pistol.
Nearly a week later, on December 16, 2024, police searched a storage closet and found $100,000 worth of clothing, believed to have been stolen from a Kensington business in November 2024.
On December 19, 2024, police searched another home, this time in the 2300 block of 34th Avenue SW, and found 54 grams of methamphetamine and $2,000 worth of stolen clothing. Three men and a woman have been arrested and charged by police as part of the investigation.
Christopher Paulo Alves, 37, Haley Elizabeth Erbach, 32, Clifford Clayton Favel, 48, and Roberto Ferreira, 57, were charged with crimes related to drugs, weapons and theft of property.
Nine other people, who were found in the residences during the execution of search warrants, were arrested on 15 outstanding warrants under the Penal Code and 11 traffic warrants under the Security Code.
