A woman, aged 70, has died in a two-car crash in County Kilkenny

A woman, aged 70, has died following a two-car crash in Slieverue, Co Kilkenny on Friday evening. The crash happened on the N25 at Luffany, north-east of Waterford city, at around 5.50pm. The woman, the driver of one of the cars, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was taken to Waterford University Hospital morgue, where a death was recorded.
The driver of the other car, a man in his thirties, and a passenger in that car, a woman in her twenties, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Waterford University Hospital. The N25 remains closed this morning between the Luffany roundabout and the Glenmore roundabout while a technical inspection is carried out. Local diversions are in place.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Police are also appealing to any road users who may have dashcam footage (including cameras) travelling on the N25 between the Luffany roundabout, Slieverue and Glenmore between 5.30pm and 6.15pm yesterday to release this footage to police.
