Urfan Sharif was jailed at the Old Bailey in December
Police are investigating after Sara Sharif's father was allegedly attacked in prison weeks after being jailed for the murder of the 10-year-old boy.
Urfan Sharif was allegedly attacked at Belmarsh Prison on New Year's Day by two other inmates in a cell, the Sun newspaper reported.
Sharif suffered cuts to his neck and face and is believed to have received medical treatment in prison.
Sharif, 43, and Sara's sister were jailed for life after pleading guilty at the Old Bailey last month to murdering Sara at their home in Woking, Surrey. A spokesman for the Prison Service said: "Police are investigating an assault on a prisoner at HMP Belmarsh on January 1.
"It would be inappropriate to comment further while the investigation is ongoing."
Belmarsh is a Category A prison in south-east London that houses some of the UK's most dangerous prisoners.
According to the Sun, Sharif was attacked with an improvised weapon.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police are investigating an allegation that a prisoner was assaulted at HMP Belmarsh on January 1.
"The victim, a 43-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries."

Sara was found dead in August 2023
Sara was hooded, burned and beaten during a "torture campaign" that lasted two years before her body was found in the family home in August 2023. Urfan Sharif was sentenced to at least 40 years in prison for murder, while his wife Beinash Batool, 30, received at least 33 years.
Sarah's uncle, Faisal Malik, 29, was jailed for 16 years for causing or abetting her death.
The three men fled to Islamabad, Pakistan, with Sarah's five siblings the day before her body was found, sparking an international manhunt.
They hid there for four weeks before returning to the UK, where they were arrested.
