Sex trafficking between the United States and Canada is a serious problem, according to U.S. Ambassador David Cohen. Cohen claims that sex traffickers are shielded by Canada's privacy laws and regulations.
Three according to some estimates, between 1,500 and 2,000 persons are trafficked in or over Canada's borders each year, and over 500,000 women and girls are trafficked into the United States for forced sex.
