The Sovereignty Act of Alberta is being utilized to shield the province's workers and economy from the federal government's cap on oil and gas output.

This is how it will operate: Prohibit the federal emissions cap from being implemented or enforced at the provincial level.
☑️ Under the Critical Infrastructure Defence Act, safeguard Alberta's oil and gas assets as "essential infrastructure." Limit unapproved access to oil and gas facilities, including by contractors or federal representatives.
☑️ Declare data pertaining to emissions from oil and gas plants as Alberta-only, with the province controlling reporting.
☑️ Extend royalty-in-kind initiatives for bitumen, conventional oil, and possibly natural gas.
☑️ Work together with First Nations, the U.S., and other provinces to double pipeline capacity to tidewater. Visit alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI to find out more.
