Title: INDIAN FAMILY FREEZES TO DEATH IN FAILED U.S.-CANADA BORDER CROSSING
Post by: bosman on 2024-11-17 11:15
In a failed attempt to cross the U.S.-Canada border, an Indian family freezes to death.

Following a terrible 2022 event in which an Indian family of four froze to death while attempting to cross the U.S.-Canada border, two individuals, Harshkumar Patel and Steve Shand, are on trial tomorrow on charges of operating a human smuggling business.

As they made their way across snowfields in -38°C temperatures, Jagdish Patel, his wife, and their two kids perished from the bitter cold.

The smugglers, according to the prosecution, preyed on families like the Patels who were looking for better lives overseas and charged migrants up to $90,000 per person.

As the number of Indian people arrested at the U.S.-Canada border rises, this tragedy underscores the mounting risks associated with illegal migration.
