Maxime Bernier's advice for Conservative Party members who are starting to question their beliefs.
Pierre Poilievre, the head of the Conservative Party of Canada, has been often accused by Maxime Bernier, the leader of the People's Party of Canada (PPC), for not being conservative enough. Bernier has expressed worries that on important subjects, Poilievre and the Conservative Party support liberal ideas too closely:
👉Mass Immigration: According to Bernier, Poilievre does this to win over immigrant voters, which is why he has chastised him for not questioning the high immigration levels established by Trudeau.
👉Gender Ideology: He has charged Poilievre with not speaking out or endorsing gender-related legislation, suggesting a lack of adherence to traditional conservative principles on these issues.
Social Issues: According to Bernier,According to Poilievre, the Conservative Party is moving toward the center-left because it does not adopt what he views as principled stances on social issues like abortion or the concept of gender.
👉Environmental and Economic ideas: Bernier criticizes Poilievre for not deviating much from liberal ideas on equalization payments, federalism, and climate change, which he views as not being genuinely conservative, despite the fact that he has been outspoken about tax cuts.
For those who believe the Conservative Party has strayed from its conservative foundation, the #PPC is the real alternative.
