The United States is looking into a confidential document leak regarding Israel's intentions to strike Iran.

Telegram has received classified papers regarding Israel's plans to attack Iran.

US officials are investigating if a hacker or internal breach caused the documents.

According to three US officials who spoke to The Associated Press, the US is looking into the unauthorized publication of classified documents that evaluate Israel's intentions to attack Iran.

The records seem to be authentic, according to a fourth U.S. official.

According to the records, which are credited to the National Security Agency and the US Geospatial Intelligence Agency, Israel is still moving military assets.

The "Five Eyes," which are the United States, Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, were able to share them.

CNN and Axios were the first to report on the top-secret documents, which were uploaded on Telegram.

Since they were not authorized to speak about the issue in public, the officials talked under the condition of anonymity.

The inquiry is also looking at how the papers were acquired, including whether a US intelligence community member purposefully leaked them or if they were acquired in another way, such as a hack — and if any further intelligence data was exposed, according to one of the officials.

Officials are trying to ascertain who had access to the documents prior to their posting, they added, as part of that investigation.

To particularly target Iran's ballistic missile assaults, the United States is delivering a THAAD system to Israel.

The records surfaced as the United States urged Israel to capitalize on its removal of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, and
press for a ceasefire in Gaza, and has likewise urgently cautioned Israel not to further expand military operations in the north in Lebanon and risk a wider regional war.

However, Israel's leadership has repeatedly stressed it will not let Iran's missile attack go unanswered.

In a statement, the Pentagon said it was aware of the reports of the documents but did not have further comment.

The US has been bolstering Israel's air defence system.

It has provided Israel with one of its most advanced air defence systems, the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery, to help defend against further Iranian ballistic missile attacks.
