Title: Man in his 30s accused of gunshot and extortion in Northeastern Calgary

After reportedly shooting up a house in northeast Calgary and threatening the resident, a man is being charged with many offences.

According to Calgary police, on September 19 at around 2:20 a.m., several gunshots were heard at a home on Savanna Green NE in the Saddle Ridge neighbourhood.


Later that morning, according to the police, a guy discovered bullet holes in both his vehicles and the house when he was leaving. The man called the police and reported that nobody was hurt.


The man reported receiving threatening calls on September 23 from someone who was "referring to the shooting and demanding a large sum of cash," when he called police again.


Two suspects were identified by investigators through security footage and evidence left at
the scene.Gursewak Singh, 32, is accused by the police of seven offences involving firearms and one count of extortion. Friday is his court appearance.

According to CPS, charges are still pending against the second suspect.


The occurrence, in the opinion of the investigators, had nothing to do with any active investigations.
