The Calgary Police Service is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Abbeydale community.

Initially reported as a suspicious death, it has been confirmed after an autopsy that the victim, 16-year-old Carter SPIVAK-VILLENEUVE, was killed. The incident took place on the 300 block of Abergale Drive N.E. around 1:20 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025.
The police are now seeking any information regarding suspicious activity in the area between midnight and 1:30 a.m. that same morning. Residents are urged to review their dashcam and CCTV footage for any potential evidence and to report any suspicious findings.
