Benson Upah, the spokesman for the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has issued a warning that petrol prices in Nigeria may eventually rise to N5,000 per litre.
In an interview with Weekend Trust, Upah made this statement in response to the recent increase in the price of fuel at the pump.
Additionally, he emphasized that the rise runs counter to the understanding the NLC struck with the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Upah asserts that the Federal Government's claim of a restoration of subsidies was never fulfilled.
"Subsidy was never restored at any point in time as they claimed," the speaker declared.
