The incident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Erlton Station. A young individual approached the driver with a knife and demanded their phone, resulting in the driver handing over an undisclosed sum of money. The suspect then joined a group of teenagers nearby.

Police swiftly apprehended the group at the intersection of 25 Avenue S.W. and Macleod Trail S. without any resistance. An 11-year-old boy was among the arrested individuals, but due to being under the age of 12, he cannot be charged with a criminal offense under the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released to the custody of a parent.

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with one count of shoplifting and three counts of failure to comply with a release order. Charges are also pending against a 16-year-old girl in relation to the theft at the liquor store, which is believed to be connected to the bus driver incident. The youths are accused of entering the store and stealing multiple bottles of liquor valued at over $200 before the attempted bus driver robbery.

The identities of the minors cannot be disclosed due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) is actively investigating the case with the help of Calgary Crime Stoppers. Any information regarding these incidents is encouraged to be reported to CPS at 403-266-1234 or anonymously to Calgary Crime Stoppers. The case numbers provided are CA253828190 for the bus driver robbery and 60959 for the liquor store theft.
