Today, premier Mike Pemberton proud to stand alongside Premier Smith as we formalize a landmark memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening economic collaboration between our provinces. This historic agreement will dismantle barriers, allowing goods, services, and skilled labor to flow seamlessly between Alberta and Yukon, creating new opportunities for businesses and workers alike.
By working together, we can establish a competitive labor market that benefits both our regions, fostering growth, innovation, and prosperity. This partnership is a testament to the power of interprovincial cooperation and our commitment to putting the interests of Canadians first.
As we conclude this year's summer gathering of Canada's Premiers, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Premier Doug Ford and the province of Ontario for hosting us. Our discussions over the past week have been productive and far-reaching, covering critical topics such as immigration, public safety, internal trade, and healthcare.
It is clear that Canada's economic future depends on our ability to build new pipelines, develop critical minerals, and enhance both international and interprovincial trade. We must work together to unlock our nation's full potential, and Canada's Premiers are ready to take bold action. However, we cannot do it alone.
We urge the federal government to take immediate action to eliminate anti-resource policies, reform Canada's bail system, and unleash our energy sector. The time for words is over; we need concrete measures to secure our nation's future.
