State Department Undergoes Significant Restructuring Under Trump Administration
In a move that has sparked controversy, the United States Department of State is set to lay off over 1,300 employees as part of a comprehensive reorganization plan aimed at streamlining its domestic operations. The plan, which is part of the Trump administration's efforts to optimize the department's resources, has been met with criticism from critics who argue that it will weaken America's global influence and hinder its ability to counter threats abroad.
According to sources within the department, 1,107 civil servants and 246 foreign service officers with domestic assignments will receive layoff notices, effective immediately.
