The seizure occurred near the town of Virden after an investigation into drug trafficking that started in April. The suspects, a 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were apprehended during a traffic stop on Highway 1 on June 24.
The RCMP confiscated 250 grams of cocaine, 500 grams of meth, and an undisclosed amount of cash from the vehicle. Both individuals have been charged with possession of cocaine and meth for the purpose of trafficking. The man has also been charged with possessing property obtained by crime. The operation was a collaborative effort involving Virden RCMP, police services from Brandon, Regina, and Saskatoon, as well as the RCMP's west district crime reduction enforcement support team.
