Arrests Made After In-Flight Altercation and Drug Discovery on Flight from Thompson to Tadoule Lake

The Thompson Rural RCMP have reported the arrest of two individuals following an in-flight disturbance on July 7, 2025. The incident occurred on a flight that originated from Thompson and was heading to Tadoule Lake. The flight was forced to turn around and return to Thompson due to the altercation between the two passengers.
At approximately 3:35 pm on July 7, the RCMP received a report from the Thompson Airport regarding the disruption. Upon the aircraft's return, officers boarded the plane and safely detained the two individuals involved, who were identified as a 29-year-old male from Thompson and a 27-year-old male from Tadoule Lake.
The 27-year-old suspect, Trayvon Mowatt, has been charged with three offences: Endangering the safety of an aircraft, Assault causing bodily harm, and Uttering threats. He has been remanded into custody as he awaits further legal proceedings.
During the course of the investigation, a small amount of a substance believed to be crack cocaine was found in the possession of the 29-year-old. He has been released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, facing charges of Endangering the safety of an aircraft and Possession of a controlled substance.
The exact details of the altercation have not been disclosed, but the RCMP have assured the public that the situation was handled with the utmost concern for the safety of all passengers and crew members. The identities of the other passengers and the flight's original destination remain confidential at this time to respect their privacy and the ongoing investigation.
The Thompson Rural RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident and are working closely with airport security and the airline to gather additional information.
