Mumbai: A 39-year-old Nigerian citizen was detained by the Worli unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) on Saturday for purportedly possessing 200 grams of cocaine valued at Rs 2 crores in the Malad area of Mumbai. Nevertheless, the accused, Frank Chibuzar Nandi, contends that the drugs were planted on him and that he has been wrongfully implicated in this matter.

According to law enforcement, acting on a specific tip-off, officers set up a trap near PJ Colony, Orlem Marve Road in Malad, and intercepted Nandi, who was allegedly carrying a bag. Upon inspecting the bag, police reported recovering 200 grams of a white powder believed to be a narcotic substance. A field drug test verified it as cocaine. Authorities also confiscated a Honda City vehicle from Nandi's possession.

A panchnama was prepared at the scene, and Nandi was presented before the Holiday Court on Sunday. While the police requested custody for further investigation, the accused informed the court that he had been framed.
