This week, in his capacity as Patron of Cystic Fibrosis Australia (CFA), the Governor-General hosted members of the CFA community at Admiralty House in Sydney.

Individuals affected by cystic fibrosis, along with their families, healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates, and supporters, gathered to connect, reflect, and celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience that characterize the CF community—during the same week that a transformative PBS listing made the life-altering medication Trikafta more accessible.

We extend our gratitude to CFA President Teresa Brierly, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jo Armstrong, and the Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, as well as to everyone who participated and shared their experiences.

A special acknowledgment goes to CFA National Ambassador and professional rugby player Nathan Charles for sharing his personal journey and motivating young individuals living with CF.

Additionally, we thank young Heath, who presented a lovely card and drawing of Admiralty House to the Governor-General.

Lastly, we recognize Harry, who brought along a long string of beads—each bead symbolizing a hospital visit or medical appointment—visibly and powerfully illustrating the impact of cystic fibrosis.
