The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast indicating that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and several other states will experience rainfall over the next three days, beginning on Tuesday. According to the forecast, the rains are expected to be moderate to heavy in some areas, which could potentially lead to flash floods, particularly in regions prone to flooding.

NiMet has advised residents of the affected areas to take necessary precautions, including avoiding flood-prone areas and staying indoors during heavy downpours. The agency also urged motorists to drive cautiously, as the rain could reduce visibility and make roads slippery.

The states likely to be affected by this weather pattern include Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Rivers, Edo, Delta, Anambra, Imo, and Enugu, among others. The forecast also suggests that coastal regions and parts of the South-East may experience particularly intense rainfall.

NiMet's prediction aligns with the ongoing rainy season in Nigeria, which typically runs from March to November. During this period, it's common for the southern and central parts of the country to experience frequent and sometimes intense rainfall.

The agency has also warned that the expected rain could disrupt daily activities and advised people to stay updated with weather reports to plan their activities accordingly.

This forecast comes as a reminder for residents to be vigilant and prepared for any potential adverse weather conditions in the coming days.
