The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in the 34-year-old cold case of Angelien Josephine Quesnelle's homicide. The accused, a 70-year-old individual from Bath, has been charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation into Quesnelle's disappearance and subsequent death began in October 1991, when she was reported missing and her car was discovered in an abandoned quarry east of Coe Hill. Despite extensive searches, it was not until November 10, 1991 that her body was found on McCoy Bay Road. The case remained open and active, with OPP investigators working tirelessly over the years.
The arrest was made on June 19, 2025, and the accused is now facing a first-degree murder charge under section 231 of the Criminal Code. The investigation was led by the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit and supervised by the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
Detective Inspector Shawn Glassford of the OPP CIB emphasized the significance of the arrest for the victim's family and the community of Apsley, stating, "This arrest represents an important step toward providing Angelien's family and the community with the long-awaited answers they deserve."
