The Calgary Police Service is currently looking into a tragic incident that occurred on Thursday evening, which resulted in the loss of life due to a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The event took place at approximately 5:54 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of Stoney Trail, near the intersection with Sarcee Trail N.W.

Preliminary reports indicate that the pickup truck was in the process of changing lanes when it collided with the motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle sustained critical injuries that were unfortunately life-threatening. Despite immediate medical attention and being transported to the hospital, the individual succumbed to their injuries.
At this stage in the investigation, authorities have ruled out speed, alcohol, and drugs as contributing factors to the crash. The Calgary Police are likely to continue their inquiries to determine the exact cause of the collision.
This incident has caused significant traffic disruptions in the area, prompting the use of alternate routes.
