The project aims to enhance Ghana's agricultural economy and provide numerous benefits to the local community. The mill will process a significant amount of locally grown rice each year, offering a reliable market for farmers and reducing post-harvest losses. Additionally, it is estimated to create over 2,000 employment opportunities, particularly targeting women, children, and the youth. This initiative supports the government's goal of transitioning from subsistence farming to commercial production and agro-industrial transformation. Furthermore, President Mahama's commitment to purchase the rice produced at this mill through the National Buffer Stock Company will not only ensure a steady income for farmers but also contribute to the nation's food security by supplying local produce to senior high school students across Ghana. This holistic approach to agricultural development is expected to boost the regional economy, improve livelihoods, and encourage community stability by reducing the need for youth to migrate to urban areas in search of employment.
