The European Union has sent another €1 billion ($1.15 billion) loan to Ukraine as part of a G7 aid package to help Kyiv cover its urgent financial needs due to the ongoing war with Russia, the EU's executive branch said on Friday.

"This is part of a G7 commitment to provide Ukraine with €15 billion over the next few months to support its efforts to resist Russian aggression," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on Twitter.
The latest loan brings the total EU support to Ukraine to €150 billion ($163 billion) since the start of the war in February 2022.
Separately, Ukrainian authorities said on Friday that they had received the bodies of 1,200 soldiers killed fighting against Russian forces.
And in France, a bus carrying Ukrainians has crashed, killing at least four people, including one child, authorities have said.

- Russian forces have launched a series of airstrikes on the eastern city of Kramatorsk, killing at least six people and injuring 13, Ukrainian authorities said. The strikes hit a residential area and damaged a school and other buildings.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for more sanctions against Russia, including a complete ban on Russian oil, during his visit to Brussels to meet with European Council President Antonio Costa.
- The Ukrainian military said it had repelled numerous attacks by Russian forces in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, as fighting continues along the front lines.
- A bus carrying a group of Ukrainians has crashed in western France, killing at least four people and injuring dozens. The cause of the accident is being investigated, but it is not believed to be related to the conflict.
- The United States is reportedly considering providing Kyiv with long-range missiles capable of reaching targets deep within Russian territory, which would be a significant escalation of military support.
