Mr. Ola Olukoyede, the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has urged Muslims nationwide to embody the noble values of love, compassion, sacrifice, truth, and integrity during their Eid al-Adha celebrations. Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, June 5, 2025, Olukoyede shared his heartfelt greetings with the Muslim community in honor of the festive occasion. He emphasized the importance of a stronger and more dedicated effort in the battle against corruption, noting that Nigeria can achieve significant progress through a united commitment to confront this pressing issue. "As we mark Eid al-Adha, let us sharpen our focus on addressing corrupt practices within our society. We possess all the necessary tools to face and overcome financial and economic crimes. Nigeria is poised for greatness, and it requires our collaborative determination," he stated. The EFCC Chairman encouraged Muslims to utilize the Salah celebrations as an opportunity to brainstorm and implement effective strategies for national advancement. He declared, "As long as we are committed to devising initiatives that drive our nation forward, progress is inevitable. Combating corruption remains a critical necessity that we cannot ignore." Olukoyede also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership in promoting a conducive environment for the anti-corruption agenda. "We owe our President our appreciation for his commitment. Without political will, tackling corruption effectively is impossible," he concluded.
