On May 9, 2025, at approximately 9 pm, the Powerview RCMP received a report regarding an individual with a weapon at a business situated on Walleye Lane in Powerview-Pine Falls. According to the complaint, an intoxicated male was present on the premises with a sawed-off gun.

Upon arrival, the officers managed to locate the suspect, who matched the description provided by the witness. They observed the 24-year-old male, identified as William Hudson from Winnipeg, with the firearm still concealed in his waistband. Without any additional incidents, Hudson was apprehended.
The weapon in question was confirmed to be loaded, and during a subsequent search, it was discovered that Hudson had 616.3 grams of cocaine and a significant sum of Canadian currency in his possession. This led to the laying of 16 charges against him. The charges are as follows:
1. Possession of Firearm contrary to a Prohibition order
2. Possession of Weapon contrary to a Prohibition order
3. Possession of Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition order (2 counts)
4. Carry concealed weapon
5. Unauthorized possession of firearm
6. Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm
7. Possession firearm knowing the serial number was removed
8. Assault peace officer with weapon
9. Uttering threats to cause bodily harm (2 counts)
10. Fail to comply with conditions of a release order (2 counts)
11. Resist peace officer
12. Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
13. Possession for the Purpose of trafficking - cocaine
William Hudson is currently being held in custody as the investigation remains ongoing. The Powerview RCMP are urging anyone with further information to come forward and assist in their efforts to ensure public safety and bring those involved in criminal activities to justice.
