Title: Premier Smith had the chance to hear the throne speech.

Yesterday, Premier Smith had the chance to hear the throne speech. While I appreciate the Prime Minister's enthusiasm for major national projects and positioning Canada as a leader in conventional energy, I was disheartened that the speech did not include concrete actions or policy changes to address the urgent concerns of Albertans.

I have made it clear to the Prime Minister that it is vital for the federal government to take real steps to reset its relationship with Alberta. This starts with a strong commitment to collaborate with our province on constructing an oil pipeline to the northwest BC coast—a project that would not only drive economic growth but also create jobs and enhance our nation's competitiveness in the global energy market. Moreover, I urge the federal government to repeal several policies that are obstructing Alberta's potential. The emissions cap, Bill C-69, the tanker ban, and the net-zero electricity regulations all serve as barriers to our province's economic success and must be rescinded. These policies hinder our growth and threaten both our sovereignty and the livelihoods of our residents. We cannot afford delays; Albertans need to see meaningful actions taken in weeks, not months. It is critical for the federal government to address our concerns without hesitation.
I am eager to hear from the Prime Minister about specific steps forward and look forward to collaborating on creating a stronger and more prosperous Alberta and Canada. As an advocate for Alberta's residents, I will persist in pushing for our province's interests and urge the federal government to implement the necessary actions to benefit our economy, our people, and our way of life. The current situation is no longer acceptable, and it is essential that we witness real progress in the immediate future.
