On the 23rd of May, 2025, Honourable Nancy Tembo, the Malawian Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Professor Dragan Glamocic, Serbia's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, to discuss potential bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The meeting aimed to explore the establishment of frameworks that would enhance collaboration, with Malawi's focus on aligning the partnership with its Agriculture, Tourism, and Mining (ATM) Strategy. This strategy prioritizes agricultural commercialization, tourism promotion, and mining investment for national development.

During the discussions, Honourable Tembo emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership to Malawi's agricultural goals. Professor Glamocic, on his part, expressed Serbia's willingness to collaborate, highlighting the country's readiness to assist in agricultural research, irrigation development, and adding value to Malawi's agricultural products.
Following the meeting with Professor Glamocic, Honourable Tembo held talks with His Excellency Ivica Dačić, Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs. She expressed Malawi's appreciation for Serbian support regarding its participation in EXPO 2027, an event that will offer Malawi the opportunity to showcase its goods to the international market.
His Excellency Dačić praised the visit as a significant step towards bolstering the relationship between the two nations and reiterated Serbia's commitment to collaborate with Malawi in areas such as security, education, and agriculture. The meeting underscored the shared belief in the mutual advantages that can be gained from increased cooperation.
