🚨OFFICER INJURED IN ON-DUTY COLLISION🚨

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, a member of the HCPD was taken to a local hospital following a collision involving two vehicles near the intersection of Red Bluff Road and Sandpiper Road, just outside Loris.

The motorcycle officer from HCPD suffered serious injuries, and a lengthy recovery process is anticipated. We are grateful for your support during this challenging time.

As is customary in traffic incidents, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the accident.

The initial emergency call was received at 7:32 a.m.

Responding to the scene were personnel from HCPD, Horry County Fire Rescue, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Horry County Sheriff's Office.
