After an RCMP search into a smuggling enterprise in southwest Quebec, two people were detained and five people were saved.

Five persons were rescued near the Canada-U.S. border near Hinchinbrooke, Quebec, after an RCMP search and rescue operation resulted in two arrests following a tip from U.S.

Customs and Border Protection. According to the RCMP, a 20-person border patrol team from Valleyfield searched southwest of Montreal for almost eight hours on Saturday and Sunday. According to a news release from the RCMP, "all five individuals were suffering from hypothermia and were unable to continue their journey when they were found."
