A man with a loaded pistol has been taken into custody in the Downtown Eastside, according to the Vancouver Police Department. Around 3:30 PM on Friday, police say they were summoned to a complaint of a man brandishing a gun near Main and Powell. Three streets away, close to Gore Avenue and East Hastings, the suspect—a 33-year-old Abbotsford man—was discovered. He was released on bail at the time of his arrest, according to the police, with restrictions on his ability to own firearms.
