Real Madrid are  set to  'end' their  long-term interest in  signing Bayern Munich defender Alphonso  Davies.
The Blancos have been tracking the Canada international for  more than 12 months  after contract talks between his representatives and the Bundesliga giants appeared to have reached  an impasse.

With Davies' current  contract at the Allianz Arena expiring at the end of the 2024/25  season, the 24-year-old is eligible to  enter into free transfer  talks with a view to a  move in the summer.
However, according to the latest update on his situation in Bavaria, reports from Diario AS  suggest that Bayern Munich's final renewal offer has been accepted.

The significant turning point appears to be the  desire to increase a salary offer from  £11 million ($13.4 million) to  £12.7 million ($15.5 million) per year, which  was Davies' request  from the start. Faced with the prospect of losing a star player, the  new package matches what was reportedly  on offer in Madrid, and Davies could now  stay in Munich on a long-term  deal.

The La Liga champions are now expected to pull out of the  race if Davies  accepts and no  other offers  are made.
Losing Davies is a  huge blow for Carlo Ancelotti, as it means missing out on half of his defensive transfer  plans until 2025, with Trent Alexander-Arnold now the  focus.
Alexander-Arnold's contract situation mirrors Davies' in Munich and the England star remains undecided  between Liverpool  and Madrid for next season.
